Breakfasts are provided by the lodgings/hotels/residence halls for all those who are staying there.

Lunches are served at the Heritage Center Cafeteria. These lunches are provided as part of the conference registration fees for all registered conference participants (and for their guests with pre-paid meal plans)–Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Lunch is also available on WEDNESDAY FOR PURCHASE at the Heritage Center Cafeteria (or at other locations in the University Medical area such as the Moran Eye Center, University Hospital, or Pointe at the Huntsman Cancer Institute).

Dinners are provided as part of the conference registration on Wednesday (6/11) and Thursday (6/12); guests with pre-paid meal tickets are included in these dinners. (NO dinner is provided on Friday; that night is “dinner on your own” with colleagues and new-found friends. You will be provided with a list of restaurants and transportation options.)

Mid-morning/afternoon refreshment breaks are provided as part of the conference registration package. GUESTS ARE NOT INCLUDED.

Receptions (with beer, wine, juices, waters, soft drinks) are also included in the conference registration package. All registered conference attendees (and pre-paid guests) will receive two free drink tickets apiece for each evening to be redeemed at the receptions on Wed, Thurs, and Fri. (The Friday reception is part of the Resource Fair and Poster Sessions.)

Guest meal tickets may be pre-purchased via the online registration site: http://iced2008.org/registration

At the conference registration-confirmation table, guest meal tickets will be provided for pre-paid guests. Pre-paid guests, including children, may attend educational excursions (purchase excursion tickets via the online registration site), almost all meals, and three receptions. However only registered conference attendees—not guests—may attend most conference events (e.g., plenary and concurrent sessions, roundtables). GUEST MEAL TICKETS DO NOT INCLUDE ANY MID-MORNING OR AFTERNOON REFRESHMENT BREAKS.

Guest meal tickets must be displayed for the daily lunches at the Heritage Center Cafeteria and for the two outdoor dinners (Wed. and Thurs. eves). All paid guests will also receive two free drink tickets apiece for the pre-dinner receptions (Wed. and Thurs.) and the Resource Fair (Fri. eve). Saturday evening banquet tickets for guests are purchased separately via the online registration site.

Saturday night banquet at Silver Lake Lodge. Banquet tickets for conference participants (and their guests) are purchased online here.

Banquet policies for children with guest tickets. Although all pre-paid guests (including children) are welcome at the conference meals and receptions, children of any age are discouraged from attending the Saturday evening banquet event for several reasons. First, the event is many hours long, including the bus ride to the resort, the cocktail reception, the banquet, and the long ride back to the lodgings. It is unlikely that most children would find such an event “fun.” (And, adults at the banquet may find children distracting.) Furthermore, young children are more susceptible to disorientation due to higher altitudes, and they can easily feel ill. In addition, because participants will travel on chartered buses, there is no opportunity to take children away (back to their lodgings) should they become bored, tired, or ill. Children six years of age (or younger) are NOT allowed at the Saturday evening banquet. Well-behaved children, seven years of age (or older) who are closely supervised by a parent may attend the banquet, but it is not recommended.
